Courtnie's pronouns are she/her.
Born and raised in Houston, TX , Courtnie knew from an early age that helping others was her life's mission. After graduating from high school, she was determined to experience life in a different environment. She began her college matriculation at Dillard University in New Orleans, LA, and later transferred to Texas State University- San Marcos, TX where she attained her BA in psychology. There she became a member of Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She then went on to attain her MA in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. During her time at Prairie View, Courtnie became a member of Chi Sigma Iota National Honor Society in Counseling. When not engaged in therapy Courtnie enjoys binging on Netflix, trying various brunch locations, and spending time with her family and friends.
Courtnie has previous experience working with the homeless, veterans, and individuals suffering with substance abuse addiction. Her professional experience includes substance abuse recovery, group counseling, individual counseling, couple's counseling, and anger management.
Courtnie believes that the healing process begins by creating safe environments and promoting healthy relationships. It is her passion to walk beside her clients to assist in their journey. She promotes safe, judgement free, and shame free environments. Her theoretical orientations are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.
